I've played volleyball for about 6 years- going into 9th grade- but I can't
stand the people on my team.
I really love volleyball and now that I'm going into high school, now is
when it starts getting serious.
However, I don't feel like part of the team because everyone on the team is
friends and I'm just kind of stuck outside of their crowd. Every time I go
to practice and a match, I feel like I don't belong there and it's getting
really irritating at how they treat me sometimes.
It's getting to the point where playing on the school team isn't fun
anymore and going to practices and matches just seems strenuous cause I
have to deal with their crap. I don't feel like talking to the coaches
either, because they play favorites and I don't think that it would
help.
My parents don't want me to quit the team because they say that there are
always going to be people like that, but I can't take any of this anymore
and it's getting really frusterating- I have no friends on the team and I
always feel left out and it's starting to feel like what's the point of
continuing with this if I don't enjoy it...

I was in the same boat a couple of years ago..i felt like i was no apart of the team and the volleyball practices and games were so serious i started getting stressed out..but you need to ask yourself..If i dont play will i miss it? Also ask yourself..What do i enjoy about volleyball? If you just completely hate it..then why stress yourself..QUIT..if you are just having troubles with the team..seek out a person on the team that oyu feel most comfortable with and talk to them about..im telling you this can go a long way..you gotta open up to your teammates..i know being a freshman is hard but if you love volleyball..stick to it and eventually your time iwll come..trust me..you just gotta keep working and never give up..if you are open and outgoing..your teammates will notice and pay more attention..JUST DO IT!

Ok,so this year i want to take cheerleading and volley ball.
1.Cheerleading:
I really want to take it, i've wanted to take it since i was a little kid. I also want to take it to have fun, meet new people, just really get into school clubs. i have no experience, but i'm light, flexible, and i think i would be good at it. The thing is, i'm afriad i won't make it, should i go for it? Any tips, and what i need to do to get in?
2.Volley Ball:
I want to take this cause its fun,i'm really good at it. The problem is i've never tryed volley ball with out a hard ball. I'm kind of afriad i'll get hit in the face, i'm clumsy like that. Any suggestions on getting better?
Anyways, anything you know tips, how to get in, what you need to be able to do. Also, you don't have to answer both(even though it'd be greatt.), just answer the one you know,i wont mind. :]
thanks so much! (link)

Cheerleading would be easier to get get into and make. I dont know if its hard at your school but most schools its not that hard to make the team. As long as you have a good attitude and practice the routine that made up for tryouts. Volleyball is a whole diff story..you may think you're good at it but it takes ALOT skill and practice. Its not something you just automatically learn and if you havent practiced at all and wanna try out for the team. I recommend getting a friend and practice passing..setting and hitting before tryouts. Soo what im trying to say is..if youre not really into volleyball and just have as an idea..then i would choose cheerleading. You have to be committed to volleyball because its not easy.

WOW..i was just like you last year. Im a sophmore now but last year..i freaked out cuz i thought all the girls were gonna make fun of me and not like me. But i LOVE basketball and they were not gonna stop me from playing. When you go to this basketball practice be nice to everyone..have a pleasant face and be open to contructional criticism. Let them kno that you want to be out there..and you want to improve your skills and get better. Also put on your A game..do the very best you can. people will start to realize that you work hard and are a nice person.
ne more questions just ask..i think we can relate to alot of things!

I want to play softball but I have anxieities that i will let the team down because i've never played before. Is there anyone who waited till High Skool to pick up a sport and did okay?

Yes i know girls that are sophmores and tryout for bball even tho they didnt try for sports teams in the past. But you cant just tryout and not be prepared. If you want to play..you need to practice. Like maybe practice with your parents or a friend. There are only a few ppl who can pick up a sport like that. So be prepared. Good Luck
