Hey...
Well im a beginner in field hockey and i just recently took a camp, and am hoping to try out for the team next year at school... and I need a stick so i was wondering for those who have played what they would recommend; for instance what brands that are good and which to avoid. Also since i am a beginner i dont want to spend like 200$ on a stick so make it reasonable like under 60$.
thanks!

Here is a good website to learn how to select the right stick (lenghth, weight etc.)

'STX' field hockey sticks are good and I think they're in your price range.

Hey. Field Hockey is an awesome sport! I figure skate and play field hockey. Ok, so back to your question. A good way to get in shape is to run. In field hockey a lot of running is involved (depending on which position you play it will vary). Building up your stamina is very important so you dont get out of breath and tired. Pilates is a good way to tone your whole body and build some muscle. Start of with that, and eventually if you want to build more muscle I reccommend the book Toning For Teens by: Joyce L. Vedral. Its a great book with a 20 minute workout program to tone your body. Another thing that is key to be healthy is to drink water (it will help flatten your stomach!) and eat healthy, and in moderation. Dont starve yourself, but dont eat McDonalds every day. Good Luck and have a great field hockey season!! Let me know if you need anything else. As an avid figure skater i've pretty much gone trough the whole "getting in shape" thing =)! -- Isabel
