Q: I'm looking to make some extra money and I have noticed that there are lots of toddlers in my neighborhood. I am going to take a babysitting class where I learn the heimlich maneuver, etc.

Other information:
I am in 10th grade. (Straight A student!..but that probably doesnt help)
16 years old and a girl.
We live in a middle class neighborhood

How much should I charge? I was thinking 8 dollars per hour, + 2 dollars per hour with any amount of friends over. Is that too much?

That's a good rate for any parent, but you should also consider the amount of children you would be babysitting and their age ranges, then you could determine your wages.
