So I have a lot of poems, and I want to get them put into a book. Not a published book but just a nice book that I can keep for myself. Any ideas where I can get one/make one? :] (link)

Well, what I would do is make a compact manuscript of them all. So if you have 150pages of poems then print that off.

The clubs I've been in all required you to be 21 and older. There's always a bar, incredibly crowded (good luck getting your tab paid), people who have drank way too much and haven't stopped and a lot of techno music. =) Cover charge, of course.

Ok, so really everyone does weed at least once in their life. Even if it's just a hit. I smoke weed, not alot but enough. But theres this girl who is best friends with one of my like really good friends, and she hates me cause i smoke weed, but it's my life. I dont make other people smoke or anything. She just hates me. Idk what to say to her now, i wanna talk to her but i dont wanna make her hate me even more. What should i do? (link)

I was actually surprised by all the responses to this question. So! Another perspective! Why want a friendship with someone just because she hates you? When I read your post my first inclination was to say...well obviously she can't accept you, then you don't need her. She is hardly a friend and if she hates you then why bother wit her. The weed thing is mostly likely a phase, I hope it is for you. Take my word for, those friends of mine back in HS days who smoked pot and DIDN'T stop went into harder shit...all landed in jail some way or another...and ALL have piss poor jobs (if any). I've smoked my share of J's. If you want to stop for some girl who isn't even nice to you then good, I suppose then at least something positive is coming out of it. Otherwise, I would say don't bother with the opinion of someone who hates you. Do you like her? Do it makes you guilty that she hates you because of the pot? I'd understand that.
Maybe this is the road you're on right now. And the street sign says Pot. It's a forked road and you can choose either way: the smoking road filled with bad lungs, jail, and pot, or the empty, foreign road. If this girl is the fork prodding you to finally choose (even if it's through hate) then maybe it's not so bad.

As a linguistics minor I would say that what happens when people say the word disgusting is this...Consonant Cluster Reduction. Which basically means that there is two consonants which is naturally hard to pronounce both! Therefore, when we speak the word we accent either one of the consonants to make it easier to say. It is much harder to truly say dis-gus-ting. You really can't say it fast if you try to accent the G. I say discusting. There is nothing wrong with that either. On a side not, it might not be consonant cluster reduction it might be called something else...in which my mind is evading the right answer. Either way, it is natural to say it either way. It is not more correct to pronounce it as DisGustIng. :D

This is just an opinion, but it seems that the American culture's perogitive is to be HAPPYHAPPPYHAPPYHAPPY!! Well. I say, be yourself. If that means you don't smile constantly, or agree to everyone's whims all the time, then so be it. It will not be then end of the universe. Time will not unravel. Atoms will not explode. Be happy with yourself, be proud of who you are. However, I don't think it would be wise to go around being rude or vishous to others just because you are not happy. But, maybe you can find a medium in which you are happy and that level of happiness is just not what others want of you. Be happy on your own (in your own way). ;)

so im turning 18 next month, and i want to find something FUN to do. after the 10 year old little birthday parties passed, all i've ever done is go out to dinner with the family and maybe a friend or two, but never anything really exciting, even for my 16th. i cant go all out and extravagent because we're not loaded, but i want it to be memorable. so far im thinkin about going to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner with the family/friends and maybe getting a hotel room in Atlanta for the night with my friends, but i dont know what after that? i'd LOVE to go to a club, but only like 2 of my friends are goin to be old enough to get in with me. its still an option, but yeah. ughh gosh. any ideas? Maybe going to a pool hall could be fun. I also happen to know, as silly as it sounds, that something as simple as put-put golf can be fun and hilarious when you're with a group of friends. Maybe save the club for another time. It might not be wise to let your friends get fake ids just to go to a club. They might call the cops to come intimidate them. Plus, most people in clubs are older than you. You might end up just feeling...weird. Movies, minigolf, pool, swimming if it's warm enough can all be a hilarious time. I hope you have a happy birthday. :)
