Q: Ok, here's the deal. My boyfriend and I (we're both 17 and juniors) have been dating for 4 months... well, it'll be 5 months by the time prom rolls around. We really love each other and we both think that prom might be fun to go to. However, there are some complications. Firstly, people say that if you go to your junior prom it completely takes away the value of your senior prom. Is that true? Secondly, right around prom is a festival in my hometown that I look forward to attending all year long. I go almost every year and always have a really amazing time. Here's the problem though: I don't have a job and the festival's really pricey (usually $100+) and it takes me most of the year to save up for it. So, as you can probably see, I'd have to choose going to one or the other. The thought of missing either makes me pretty sad. Thirdly, my boyfriend is SUPER shy. Although I know he wants to go, he'd probably not dance... Which is fine. I probably wouldn't dance too much either... But anyways, what else is there to do at prom? Would we just be bored out of our minds? And finally and fourthly, I would say that I would just go to prom next year and go to the festival this year (the festival is always going to be here, prom's not). But, then again, there's no guarantee that my boyfriend and I are going to be together next year (but I hope and believe we are going to be)... And I want to go to prom with HIM. BLAH! I have no idea what to do :( and I have to decide really soon! Please give me your advice/experiences to try to help me with this difficult choice... Thank you so much! Q: Long story short... guy I like asks me to a party at his house. It's a 'housewarming' for his new housemate, who I've never met. This guy and I don't know each other that well.. we were friends through my ex and have been bumping into each other a bit at college recently. Anyway he invited me in person and told me he'd send me the facebook invite after I asked him to, but he hasn't... even though he's been online. I won't see him at college before the party and I'm wondering if I'm actually properly invited or whether he just being nice. Like I said it's technically for his housemate who I don't even really know. This party is like, my chance to actually get with this guy but I don't want to turn up if it's going to look weird. I also forget exactly what day it is. Will I come across as desperate if I send him a facebook message asking for the details? I don't want to come off too strongly, just in case he only invited me as an after thought. Or should I just forget about the whole thing?
