About kittenlover2000

I'll answer question on pretty much anything, though as I'm studying psychology and from past experience, I'm best at answering questions about love life, mental illness as well as giving career advice or job advice. I am also really into fashion and love these types of questions!. Oh and any pet help...
I have an average rating of 4.5 on here. Only inbox me questions that are short please and not about death/suicide. Honestly, there's nothing more dull that opening your inbox to 'I want to die'.
Anyway, ask away and I'll try to help out :)

There is this guy that I just can't stand. Another problem is that he works with me.
That has nothing to do with it though because I knew him before that. I just can't stand this person. He's not even particually mean to others, he's just very full of himself and talks down on everyone in and outside his job. I would just ignore him but obviously I cant. I dont know how to deal with it. I am not the only one who doesn't like him. He even told me that basically noone really wants to be friends with him. I tried to be his friend when I met him but it's just impossible for me. How can I deal with this hate towards him? I seriously wish to see him suffer sometimes. I just cant stand him and I think that I literally hate him.. How can I deal with this?
I think the advice giver below me is a little immature.
You'll get nothing out of acting like a middle school kid by being like 'I hate you'. Great. Fabulous. But what can the other person do about it?
I think you need to realize that you don't have to love or even like your colleagues. Unless he is bullying you in any way, you are still required as part of your employment contract to maintain a civil relationship with your employees.
To be honest, he has probobly sussed you don't like him, and probably doesn't want to be 'friends' with you either.
So yes, be civil with him-otherwise it can lead to workplace bullying. Then he'll be the one laughing, because you'll be the one out of a job.
I don't see how going up to someone and saying 'I hate you' is going to achieve anything at all, beyond making you look like a teenager.
You may not like my advice, but imagine how you'd feel if the boot was on the other foot? Like crap.
He may talk down to you, but that's the reality of work, I'm afraid.
Within that social norm, he can. It happens.
What is wrong though is bullying in the workplace, or being singled out and ignored (ignoring is a type of bullying). If you are being bullied by this man, speak to someone. If it gets to the stage where you think this man is being bullied, speak to someone.
It'd be beneficial to learn the psychology of thoughts. They are there. You can not control them, but you can acknowledge them. Its like if you feel yourself about to cry, you can acknowledge that thought is there, but you can then make the conscious decision whether to act on the thought or to just let it pass. That's what you have to do to 'cope' here. Learning to deal with someone like this will make you a stronger person in the future. But don't copy him by putting him down too. You're better than that.

I was never planning on telling him that I hate him or bullying him. I would never do something like that. I am just trying to find a way of dealing with it cause I could just flip everytime I see him ._.
