So i am 17 and i have NEVER actually baked something by myself. When i have to i cook with friends and family, but only really basic stuff like: a cake, cookies, pancakes, etc... But i am really not the talented girl in the kitchen.
Any of you know any good cook books for teens? Any fun tips? Sites? ANYTHING helps, thanks(:
google is by far the most awesome internet resource ever. use it. I learned to cook by feel, I just grabbed what I had on hand and threw it together, and you can do the same, as long as you know what ingredients do what (ie: eggs hold the baked goods together, or yeast in pancakes make for really fluffy flapjacks). just look at some recipes online, and after you get one down to where it tastes good, start fiddling with the recipe and make it taste great. ingenuity in the kitchen has given me an awesome set of skills, but at the same time, I've had a lot of spectacular failures. still, the fruits of my creativity more than make up for the disasters.
