advice

i'm leaving for college this weekend. i dont really have a question but i just need some advice and words of encouragement. i'm a super shy person and i really want to be outgoing and make new friends. please help me! i'm nervous that i will be the same shy person i was before and that i'll be depressed and just want to go home every weekend.

I'm going to take it that you're dorming? Dorming makes it so much easier to make new friends! College takes you out of your comfort zone, but this is the time to grow and meet tons of new people! When you move in, keep your door open. Talk to your new floormates and try to get to know as much as possible about them. Be outgoing and introduce yourself. You're in a place where EVERYBODY is feeling the same way as you now! Honestly, EVERYBODY is looking for friends and to meet new people. In my opinion, being outgoing right from the get-go will definitely help!
