Q: my mom smokes alot.
her best friend dyed 5 years ago from lung cancer. and I'm scared of my mom also getting it!
not only does my mom have a chance of it I do too because she smokes in the house.
what should I say to her to get her to understand that her smoking is affecting my health too?

Definitely listen to Alin75. He knows what he's talking about, but I just wanted to add. Depending on how much she smokes, take it slowly. Like Alin75 said about talking to her, engage in any normal conversation and you should compromise though. Maybe she smokes a whole pack a day, ask her to cut down. That also cuts down on the $$ too. Take it day by day and quitting doesn't happen over night. My father still smokes but he has cut down alot, esp. for everyone elses health. =]
