Hey, iv been sorta planning a trip to america to go see a freind. the only thing is, she's lived in america all her life and this is the first time iv ever been out the country. Im getting the passport together and all but do i need a visa of somekind? is there any thing i should be wary off as well? or things i would need? im MAle, 18 and its my first time on a plane out of england (link)
I recently left the US for the first time to volunteer in Peru for a while. I am not sure how long you are staying or where in the US you are going so I don't know a whole lot of the specifics.
If you plan on staying for a long time and think you may get homesick, you could bring an album of pictures with you. This has helped me a lot as I have been away for several months.
Familiar music, books, movies, recipies, or anything else you might miss while you are away also helps with homesickness.
A camera is a must. I have found a deck of cards can be quite handy as well. Especialy if you know a magic trick or two.
I have never been to England so I have no idea if the outlets are compatable or not. Here in Peru you need a converter so that is something to consider if you have a labtop or cellphone you will want to charge.
Hope this helped. If you added a little bit more information you might get some better advice :)
