About isearchforwords

Hello(: I'm Emily. I can bet you a cupcake I'm one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. I'm very mellow and laid-back. Been through a lot in my past, and I've learned how to accomplish getting through those tough times. My mother is currently dying of lung cancer, and doesn't have much longer to live. So most of my attention goes to her. I'm very known in this little town, for multiple reasonings. I know for a fact I care about everyone and everything and hope to do my very best with helping everybody on this site. (:

I've known this guy for about two weeks or so, and recently we've been talking a bit more than we normally do. Well, he told me I was boring. Yes, it's offensive to a point, but I'm afraid that I may come across as boring. When I first start talking to a person I'm not totally comfortable, so I can't think of anything to say, but I don't want to bore him away before I get a chance to become comfortable.
When I'm with my friends I can be very talkative, but I'm just awful at coming up with things to talk about. My conversations always involve a lot of awkward silences. It's awful. =(
Any advice on what to say/do or conversation starters, etc.?
This first and foremost point that has been emphasized time and again is about confidence. You need to think high of yourself and believe in yourself. You need to think you are no less than anybody else in any respect and that will increase your confidence level. Talk about anything and everything that you know. You don’t have to be Einstein to strike up an intellectual conversation. Rather, you could share opinions on a particular subject, discuss the latest news or just talk about a funny incident that might have happened in the morning.
Good luck(:

Thanks, this helps. =) I've realized I really do need to have a bit more confidence in myself.
