Hi, I call myself Ignatz after Dan Herriman's character in the old "Krazy Kat" comic strip. I'm 44, father of 3, husband to one, crazy about music and books and food and movies and history and martial arts. I've had some wild and crazy times in my life, and I figure I might as well put in some of my perspective.
I promise not to talk down to anyone or make fun,and I promise not to BS anyone. If you're old enough to ask a frank question, you're old enough to get a frank answer. Oh, and if you ask me a question directly, please be patient. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. My life's a bit hectic. :-)

Ok
So my fiancé and I live in these apartments. We have lived here for about a year.
The office management advertises a "year round" swming pool, however, it's been open maybe 1 or 2 months total this whole year.
For the past month, the pool has not been touched. It is severely green and puts off a rotten smell. We have to walk by it to check the mail.
I was mad that we haven't ever gotten to swim, but I got over it.
It fiancé and I were talking about it to his parents and they said that a pool in that condition is hazardous to you Health because or airborne toxin and suggested that we call the health department right away.
Are they right? Is this somehong that needs to be acted upon??
Thanks in advance for your advice. (link)

Another thing to consider, depending on where you live: mosquitoes.
Any standing body of water can become a breeding ground. Mosquitoes can carry malaria, encephalitis, and West Nile virus, aside from being annoying. An untended pool is vey much a health hazard. I'd call the board of health.
