A long time ago (a couple years) i was told that a family member i'm close to was sort-of abandoned at birth by her mum. Here's the story -
Her mum was overwhelmed by her birth, and this huge change to her life that she had 'sencond thoughts'. she took this family member to my granny, who took her in - and would have raised her if need be - but my granny (after a night or so) managed to convince the mother to take her back.
If this family member (that i'm v.close to) found out about this (i only just found out she doesn't know) whoknows what could happen to her. She hasn't had the best life - her parents divorced, she gets bullied badly etc... - and this could make it worse (if she finds out).
My Mum told me about 3 or 4 hours ago (we got onto the subject when i was talking to her about my family for a family tree project at school) that i'm not even to breathe a word to any one other than her.
About 1 or 2 hours ago i realized that i have told someone. I think i told 1/2 people, but i'm not sure. I'm not even sure who. I told them trusting them not to say a word to anyone and even though i know they've probably forgotten (i told them a while ago) or if not they would have said by now if they were going to say, but i still can't help feeling sort of scared she'll find out and guilty for telling.
I dont want you to tell me it's alright etc... but have you got any advice for me? Also should i tell my mum that i think i told someone? Thanks loads!!!!!!
you should definately tell your mum.
if your mum finds out before you tell her, she could get really upset with you and not trust you any longer.
tell her that your so sorry but you knew you had to tell her.
it will help hewr realize your just trying to be trustworthy with her.
