Q: But you see (dont judge) this guy is my adopted cousin and he had this thing for me and as time went on i began to fall for him. And one night we stayed up all night in the dark just talking and cuddling and then he began to hold my hand and then he kissed me. But then he left and came back and left--lives in a different state- and i had a dream saying i was in love with him. And i part of me says yes you are but another part says you cant do that hes your legal cousin thats it...but now i dont know what to do. Like i can deny it all but then i think of the night (which i remember perfectly) and its like i dont care. Thats why i cant talk to him on the phone or meet him face to face..he has like a power over me. Its weird. But i thought i could get rid of my feelings so i told him i didnt want him calling me anymore and we were just friends and what happened shouldnt have. But it didnt work and now i regret it and dont know what to do. My mom says that if i contact him it will make it worse. But he was like in love with ME and i dont want to hurt him...HELP!!

Well there is really nothing you can do but either call him and let him know that you care about him, whether in that manner or just as a caring friend/cousin remains to be seen. You can still care about him and love him. This can be very difficult because you can feel like you are incest though you aren't really blood, just legally. You have to go with your heart on this and with your gut, you can't help who you love?

When you love someone you can't just stop loving them, it's there no matter what you do. You can ignore it but no matter what happens you will always and forever care about that person, especailly your first love. Ignoring it just makes it that much harder in the long run if you ask me.
