What's the word that means getting very into character, or becoming the character. This is mainly for actors. (link)

its hard to explain, but you have to pretend the character is you, and adapt to his/her feelings. understand what he/shes going through. and feel the feelings that they feel. like say your character doesnt know who his/her mom or dad, and imagine you going through that, etc., etc.
