People say that I'm a little "slow on the uptake", and I was wondering, is that a bad thing, or is it not that big of a deal? (link)

It's not necessarily a bad or good thing. Just because you're slow on the uptake doesn't mean you're stupid. But at the same time, even if you don't really understand what people are talking about, don't be like "WHAT??? I DON'T GET IT!" or stand there will your mouth open and a confused look on your face. you know?
