Q: Okay so on Wednesday (Jan. 30, 2008) I'm getting 5 baby teeth pulled out. My dentist said he was gonna use novicaine (sp?) and laughing gas. I'm so scared! I don't care about the novicaine, but laughing gas?? Is it supposed to put me to sleep? I'm so nervous I feel like I'll freak out as I'm falling asleep! How does it feel? Do you just get drowsy and eventually fall asleep? Does this mean I'll feel no pain when they yank out the 5 teeth? AHH help me! I don't want to be so scared.
So, in my sixteen years of living, I have seriously had like 20 teeth extracted from my mouth. So I have lots of experience with laughing gas. And novocaine is just a huge pain in the ass. And you will hate it once the dental procedure is over. Personally though, I'm not a huge fan of laughing gas whatsoever. It tickles my nose. I feel way too relaxed, and you'll just feel so...floaty. Not at all sleepy, so nothing to worry about there. And no, you will not feel any pain at all when getting the teeth yanked. You might physically feel when they are coming out, or you might hear some crunching noises, but it will not hurt at all. So no need to be scared. The laughing gas will relax you.

thank you!
