Q: 16/f. In one of my classes, I sit by a kid who has low self-esteem and possibly mental issues. Anyway, he started talking to me on the first day of class (we had not met before). Then he started telling me about how girls always reject him, and how he's "always wanted to ask me out." After he said that, I didn't say anything back- I just sat there and continued doing my work. Frankly, this kid gives me the creeps but I don't want to be rude at all to him. When the bell rang to leave class, he said, "So will you go out with me?" And I politely said no. I think it's really weird that he asked me out when we had just met, and when he doesn't know me AT ALL. So here's the question: Class is really awkward now. How do I handle this situation, and if he brings it up again, what do I say? I don't want a relationship right now (at least not with him), and I don't want to hurt his feelings because he has low self-esteem. Help? Thank you guys!

If it gets really unconfurable after awhile maybe ask your teacher to switch your seat and have her say its for a different reason.
