I recently allowed the Lord into my life, and i really want to do what pleases Him. However, i want to date. And i know it will be a little bit more difficult because my morals and values have definitely changed. I was wondering, what are some things i need to look for in a boy that won't allow me to turn away from God? Do i need to date a Christian as well? (link)
First of all, WELCOME to the family of God! That is so cool that you chose the Lord!

This is a tough question to answer without knowing your personal situation and especially not knowing how old you are. But from what I've seen, right after a person gets saved, the devil LOVES to throw a love relationship at them. Why? Because it's a perfect way to get their focus off the love they just discovered in Jesus; no matter what age they are.

My advice is to focus on the Lord right now. The Lord will bring you and your future husband together in His perfect timing, but for now Jesus wants your attention. He wants to love on you as you seek Him. He wants to open a whole new world for you. You obviously are experiencing a little bit of this already since your morals and values have changed, but there is a whole bunch more to come.

However, I will give you some practical advice; don't "date", (especially if you are young and in high school) rather go places within a group situation as friends. Never find yourself alone with a boy; it's a tempting danger that will drag you away from Jesus. And absolutely never hook up with a boy who does not know Jesus. The bible says not to be yoked with an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14).

I praise the Lord you asked me this so I can be praying for you. Peer pressure is tough, but find your strength in God, 'k?
