last night, sabine, from around 11 PM to 3 AM, my friend and i [not in a chatroom, in two separate IM windows] were talking to my sort of crush. he was just someone that i thought was hot, but slightly had feelings for.
i would make silly comments after my friend would copy & paste something he said, like, "omg he's so hot" or " (link)

Yikes! At fourteen, everything's confusing, isn't it? The only solution to the confusion that I know of is to tell the truth.
I would tell my crush in person, or if I couldn't do it that way on IM, that I really was the person who liked him, but when he guessed, I got nervous, panicked, and denied it. I would say that I was afraid to put my feelings out there. I would apologize for lying.
But now you should be totally honest with him that you do like him. No playing games. That does not lead to good relationships.
