I'm a woman in Texas. I'm married and have a school-aged child. I have a medical background. I'm quite liberal, socially. I love helping people with medical, parenting, and social questions. Don't ask me about tech stuff or finances, because I need advice on those things myself!

Have you ever proposed to her that, in the same way she uses makeup and clothing to change between work and home, you would like something to change with your hair? Ask her to go with you to the store to pick out a temporary color that will wash out in a few weeks. There are a lot of them. You can choose together if there's a strawberry blonde, a light brown, or possibly raven black color that you'd like to try. There's also the possibility of not changing the base color but adding highlights. Tell her you'd just like to play with your appearance a little and it doesn't need to be drastic or permanent.

Be forewarned, however, that people will tease you no matter what color your hair is. If they teased you before about being blonde, they will tease you later about still being blonde underneath or about being "fake." If people want to tease you, they will find something - no matter what.

Good luck.
