Hey, tomorrow I'll be going to an interview for a job where I'll be helping sexually abused teenagers over the phone. The thing is, Im not sure they're aware of the fact that I'm only sixteen, but even if they are.. I need advice on how to get this job. (not actually a job, I'll be volounteering, so i won't be getting payed!) What kinda thing would they like to hear? Should I dress in any sort of way to show how strong I am as a woman? What do I do if it gets really quiet and awkward and we're all just sitting there.. ?! Do you think they'll judge me by the fact that I'm so short for my age? Thank you for anything you can tell me, I'm so nervous I'm starting to regret that I ever applied for this!
Oh and do you think they'll ask if I've ever been through sexual abuse?
Dress formally. Make eye contact and try to come off as self confident. When they ask you questions, answer in a way that makes you seem like you have a lot of charisma. Speak with confidence, have great visions, make eye contact etc...
Don't worry about if it gets quiet or not, the interviewer will ask questions to keep things going.
When it becomes a job like this they probably want someone with experience. If you don't have much, there really is not much you can do.
Other than that, good luck.
By the way, what state do you live in or city and what program did you apply to to get a job like this? I've been looking for a teen counseling program for some time now.

Thanks! :) I got the job! I'm starting to regrt it though, I'm not mentally strong enough. I've only worked there 3 days and I've come home crying every time! I though it would give me perspective but it just makes me think the world is a dark, dark place. I'm just warning you - I hope you're up for it! I'm sorry I can't help you with what program since I don't live in the US. But I hope you get to try it sometime! Thanks again for the advice!
