i've had a crush on my best guy friend ever since...around fourth grade we've been really tight ever since then, but ive always felt a little more for him, now for the past couple months he's been flirting a lot with me and calling me a whole lot more..his best friend asked me today would you rather be best friends or date him. his friend sent me a convo between them saying that he wanted to ask me out...i really want to say yes but would that destroy our friendship? If you like this guy (you don't even have to like him romantically yet) and you wouldn't mind spending time with him- then i'd say yes- go out with him. The best couples always start out as friends. :)
I don't think it would destroy your friendship at all- if anything it would make it stronger and more meaningful.
The worst thing that can happen is that you two will not get along anymore and you'll break up- but you can still be friends probably. Or even if you don't stay friends- it won't matter to you at that time because you'll be ready to discontinue your relationship with him.
Think of it this way- if he asks you out and you say no, do you think he'd still want to be your friend? He'd feel really bad.
I think that saying no would do more bad than good.
So go for it girl!
