15/f okay. I already have one piercing on each ear. And I really want a second one. Not a cartilige (sp?) but like another piercing on each of my ears. However, my dad won't let me get one. No matter how much I beg him, he will NOT let me get one. I was just wondering, if a person would be able to do it her/himself? Did anyone here do it? Does it hurt? Can there be an infection if proper medical treatment isn't used? Thanks in advance :)

well, i pierced my cartilage myself, and did my boyfriends second hole in his ear. i did mine with a needle, and his with a 14 gauge cafiter [sp?] that he had [i dont advise that haha]. anyway, it doesnt hurt that much. itll probably hurt more than your first hole, since more than likely the needle wont be going through your ear as fast, but its really not bad. of course there is risk of infection, but there is with any piercing. the only thing i could really say about doing your second hole yourself, is that youre really gonna have to line up where you want to pierce so they wont be crooked. numb your ear with an ice cube, mark where the needle is going through, and then just shove it in. dont be scared because youll hesitate, like i did when i did mine, and itll hurt more. also, whatever youre using to pierce it with, make sure it is sterile. wipe the tool and your ear with alcohol first. if your ears start to get infected, take the earrings out. no lie. i cleaned mine like i did the ones i got professionally done, twice a day with solution or alcohol, and it has never gotten infected. also, thing about the other risk -- what happens when your dad sees what you did. my mom told me no more piercings.. and when she saw that i did mine, she wasnt happy at all, but luckily she didnt make me take it out, however im still being nagged about it, haha. good luck =]
