My name is Lyndsey and I'm 17 years old. I live in Lexington, South Carolina. I pride myself on being mature for my age with a good head on my shoulders, but I find I can be snippy when I hear something that just hits a nerve. I have a lot of strong opinions and I have no problem arguing them. I'm a very open-minded person and very tolerant of most things.

Immaturity is a big pet peeve of mine, as is self-centered, narrow-minded, and ignorant people. I can be cruel when it comes to these things, but sometimes certain people need to be told their faults. I know mine and I have no problem being confronted with them. If someone has a problem with me, online or in person, I'd rather they tell me and we can resolve the issue in a mature fashion. I won't tell you want to WANT to hear, just what you NEED to hear.

On a less serious note, I'm a laid back person and I enjoy shopping, the internet, and my favorite TV shows (Queer as Folk, The L Word, Friends, American Idol, Will & Grace, House). I don't have a large group of friends, but the ones I have are close and I love them to death. I generally enjoy life, minus the whole school deal. I'm a junior in high school and I can't wait to move on to college. I am an honors student and I hope to go to the University of South Carolina and then eventually into the medical field, possibly psychology.

If you have any questions or want advice, I'm here for ya, babes.

so theres this guy who im really good friends with, and we both really like eachother. but his parents hate my guts. they think im a bad influence on him. hes 16 and im 14. (please dont tell me it wont work because of the age.)
they hate me because me and him were aguing about the difference between some inappropriate things, and his sister, whs a total bitch read the IM and told his parents. now im not allowed to chill with him at all, in order to go out we have to sneak around and bend rules all the time and im so tired of it.
what are some good ways to get his parents to let us hang out? id really like some fast tips, cause im going to universal next friday and i really want him to come (link)
I sense this will get me a bad rating, but I don't really care.

The only way to GET someone's trust is to EARN it. It sounds to me like you don't care how they feel about you as long as you get to be with this guy.

If you actually like him you'll try to get along with his parents. And in order to do that you'll have to prove it to them that you aren't a bad influence on this guy.

Also, I know he's 2 years older than you, but maybe you should ask yourself if you ARE a bad influence on him. Women (or in your case, girls) tend to have a power over guys, and if you're coercing him into sneaking out of the house and breaking his parents' rules when he wouldn't have before, then maybe you are a bad influence on him.

Sneaking out of the house is plain immature. Other than that, it's really stupid on your part. If his parents caught him sneaking around with you or somehow found out, then that would prove to them that you shouldn't be around their son.

They are his parents. They deserve respect. Once you give them respect, you'll get it back from them. You need to be responsible and figure out a way to prove them wrong instead of proving their point.

thats really good advice, but its not like that at all. he doesnt sneak out of his house, and its more of a sexual influence theyre talking about. not sneaking around. ive tried to talk to them adn get along with them, but they wont listen they just ignore my attempts.

im glad that your telling me the truth and not what i just want to hear, thanks a million
