You can leave a tampon in that long, but there aren't many that will make it for six hours if you're having a normal period. Good luck with that. My real advice would be to just get used to changing it in the school washrooms; it doesn't really require any higher level of cleanliness, as long as there's a sink to wash your hands and some place to throw it away you're good.

But if you want to leave it in for six hours you'll probably be safe. If you experience a sudden, very high fever with other flulike symptoms, see medical attention immediately... but that should be obvious regardless of how long you've had a tampon in.
