This is for people in high school. Sorry if it's long but I'll rate all 5s && give feedback! When you go into high school from middle school, does everything change alot? && Also, do you loose a lot of friends/do a lot of people change/is there a lot more work?? I'm just really nervous for high school && that everythign's gonna change I know high schools "the best years of our lives" but Im scared so if you guys could tell me your expierences with it && if you loose your old friends/best friends && everything changes && how it changes. Thanks. I will rate you all fives promise! &♥; dayna. (link)
It varies from school to school and from person to person. You might lose friends, it really depends on how hard you work to keep them. If you are going to the same high school then you will most likely be together for the first few months and then find your own friends. Thats not what happens all the time, though. I had a good friend from middle school and when we went to the same high school we stayed good friends. We simply made new mutual friends. If you are going to different high schools then I think much depends on how close you are to begin with. I have a friend who I was very close with before high school, we went to different schools and we are still pretty close.

People do tend to change in high school, there are so many different people and oppourtunities. Don't be hurt if friends begin to hang out with a new crowd, its most likely nothing personal. You will probably change as well. You will find new friends and hopefully keep some old ones. Seriously, high schools tend to be so highly populated that there will always be friends for you.

As for the workload, I don't find it too overwhelming. If you are involved in a lot of extra-curricular activity then obviously it will be more diffucult to keep up. Most teachers understand the difficult transition from middle school to high school and will go easy on the homework for the beginning. The workload does get more, but not by huge leaps and bounds. If you concentrate in class and keep up with homework, you should do well. Teachers don't chase you as much for assignments in high school. Its more your responsibility. So, if you are away get the missed work, if you don't understand ask the teacher until you do understand, if you STILL don't get it go in and see them for help.

Overall, high school is what you make it. If you go in with a negative attitude then you will probably have negative experience. Your first year is always the worst. High school can be a very fun and exciting step forward and I hope that I have helped prepare you for it. Congratulations and good luck!

Love, Rainbow
