Hey
I am in 8th grade, and my social studies teacher is really tough and he gave us an assignment to write a 3-4 page essay on an amendment. But I got stuck with articles 5,6,and 7 of the constitution. Its due this friday and today is tuesday.
Im just so confused. I started writting my draft, and it just seems like it all doesn't make sence to me. I cant seem to organize all the information which seems like a diferent language to me.
Im just really stressing out about this.
Will anyone give me some websites that you think would have correct information for me to understand? I tried google and I couldnt really understood what came up.
Or does anyone have any advice or knoledge about this? Thank you so much

I know what it's like when teachers throw these big, monumental things at you. The key for any Social Studies essay, or any essay at all, I have found is going to be how you work in your vocabulary.
Large words will indeed SAVE your butt. I'm not the best when it comes to SS, but plenty of times last year when I was in 8th grade, and I would get DBQ's (Document Based Question) Essays on topics I'd never even heard about...well I'd heard about them but I'd never conciously listen cause I was busy talking during class. Needless to say, I don't recommend TALKING during class at all.
What I mean is, use a thesaurus or dictionary online or at home to replace some mediocre words in your rough draft. Sometimes, if you don't like your rough draft, you have to start over.
Starting over can be scary. It's like throwing away all your old ideas. But, not quite. You don't have to throw the old ideas away. Shape your new, revised, vocab infiltrated rough draft off of the ideas in the old rough draft.
Unless the rough draft really is terrible, and does not by any means represent your task, then I'd say hold onto it.

I don't know off hand info. on the amendments, nor do I wanna wing it and throw you off. Don't stress out. If need be, have a friend thats good at SS tutor you and help you out. If that's no good, maybe a parent can help you?
And whatever you do--don't delay. Don't wait till Thursday on midnight to start your intro. Try writing your rough draft today or tomorrow based on the guidelines I just gave you. *TIP*- Try making it a little longer than 4 pages if your teacher isn't restricting you for whatever reason from 3-4 pages. More work looks good, as long as your teacher didn't give you an absolute maximum.
