Q:
I am 13 years old, and my five year old brother has just started kindgergarten. I am afraid there is something terribly wrong. In just a week and a half, he's gotten a dozen reports from his teacher saying he was being bad. my brother is not a bad kid, and the allegations are (in my opinion) completely bogus. Just yesterday, my family and I recieved a call that my brother had been fighting on the playgroung. So we went over, and found out that it was just a few hits--nothing serious, but his teacher got together with the assistant principal, and they want to suspend him for "fighting" Is this teacher stepping over the line? I had bad experiences with teachers when I was at this school, and I'm afraid that because we have the same last name (and darker skin tone), he is being discriminated against.

I think that if you had a bad experience with the SAME teacher then I think that the teacher is a lil harsh! But if you had a problem with ANOTHER teacher then I think that your brother did something bad, then he got punished! But If I were you I wouldn't worry! Most teachers love to punish kids Its just their way of showing their tough! So I think you should just have a little talk with your brother, until you suspect anything, then just explain to him violence is not the answer!

Thanks, but no thanks. You're probably white, and don't understand racism. There are no other black children in the class, and automatically -he- is getting targeted? I'm not ruling out that he can be a bad kid sometimes, but I refuse to believe everyday for 2 weeks, he was a bad kid. And, when he got in the "fight", two hits were exchanged. And that's it. Does that really warrant a suspension to you?
