I just got on birth control because of my period. I was wondering if any of you have been put on it and it DIDNT' help lighten your period and make it shorter? For those who have, was it a dramatic difference? Anything else I should know? (link)

Well,I wouldn't use it just to lighten your period...especially since the pill can cause you to gain weight quickly and other nasty sideffects.

The whole point a lot of people go on the pill (besides to not get pregnant) is to lighten and regulate their period. Why would my gynecologist and the rest of the country's gynecoloigists prescribe us to it if were having problems with it? You dont know what you're talking about.
