When my girlfriend had a baby she took off a couple weeks after the baby was born. So I've been taking care of her by myself. Well my girlfriend called me and said that she needed money and that she's coming to take Lisa, our baby, and not to fight her on it because she has the right as her mother. I don't know what to do. I still care about her but I think she might be doing drugs again and I don't feel like our baby will be safe with her. I'm afraid that she'll just leave her like she did before except this time I won't be there to take care of her. Does she have the right to take Lisa or can stop her from taking her? If I can stop her how can I do that without causing a lot of stress for the both of us?

Jack you need to get a lawyer...thats the best thing i can tell you...if you get a lawyer and you present your case well you may have a good chance in getting to keep your daughter..the courts will look for what would be best for Lisa...and if your babys momma is doing drugs and stuff like that then they should see that you are fit to care for your daughter...but make sure you call a lawyer as soon as possible..dont wait on it...you need to take immediate action..and if you do suspect that Lisa's mother is doing drugs then if she does try to come take Lisa..you can call the lawyer and they can drug test her...you know how that stuff goes...best of luck hunnie...i hope she doesnt take your baby from you...you seem like a good daddy...keep up the good work...and fight for your child...it takes 2 people to make a baby and you were the only one responsible enough to stick around and care for the life you brought into the world..be proud of yourself and keep going...best of luck...let me know how everything works out
