**** I've been gone quite a long time. However I'm still breathing though it's touch and go. Don't expect me to answer or check in much. ****Welcome to the junkdrawer that is my brain! I know something about many things, and I if I don't know it, I admit that I don't know. That I am constantly finding things I know nothing about and correcting that ignorance keeps me busy and happy. More junk for the drawer.
I love and have experience with many types of animals, including the human. I don't offend easy and I am generally cynical and a smart-butt. I love to drive, read, work on the computer and I spend WAY too much time watching Anime and bidding on ebay.
advice
hola. well you see i take accutane and people who took that were getting depressed (psh like 2 ppl) and the company didnt want to get sued so they put in the booklet "may cause depression" but yeah i feel so depressed and i have for a long time. emphasize the long. I dont sleep, and there are times when i dont eat. im really anxious and EVERYTHING makes me nervous. like standing in line at a store and paying.. cuz i wont b able to put my money away fast enough and i'll hold up the line or i'll get my money out to slow or something like that. its pretty ridiculous as you can see. ANYWHO i dont want to tell my mom how i feel bcuz sometimes im ok, (like sometimes at skool), i dont want her to send me to a psychiatrist, i dont want her to go crazy and be like are you thinking about killing urself?!?!? all the time... She's done that b4.. but the main reason is that i dont want her to try to link it to accutane.. bcuz my skin is lookin ok! ** is anyone else taking anti-depressants or have some of my same problem? what do you take and how does it affect you?
thanks- srry so long
Sweetheart, you don't need a psychiatrist to put you on a good antidepressant. Your regular doctor can do this just fine. Just tell your mother you aren't feeling well and see if she'll take you to your general practitioner. Tell him EXACTLY what's happening and what you are taking. I have taken Prozac, Effexor, and am currently on Lexapro. They are all what's called Seratonin re-uptake inhibitors. All that means is that the chemical Seratonin in you brain (it effects mood, body temp, and several other things) needs help to stay in your system long enough to work properly. Heredity and certain drugs can cause a reduction in Seratinon production, also things like nutrasweetened products and a few other foods I can't remember right now. Eating turkey and pasta can help up the production, and avoiding diet colas. If a change in diet doesn't help enough, I would suggest Effexor personally. I intend to switch back to it as soon as I can afford to go back to the doctor. There are many options for medication and you may have to try more than one to find what's right for you. I left Prozac because it was causing fridgity in my marriage. Other than that it worked fine. I switched from Effexor because if you miss a dose you revert to your old symptoms very quickly. Lexapro doesn't work too well for me and has an annoying side-effect (constipation). Discuss everything with your doctor and read up on some of the other medications available to you. A note on suicide and Prozac, this is not medically proven, just my own experience and opinion. When someone is severely depressed they loose the energy to do anything including commit suicide. Everything just seems like too much effort. Once the medication starts working, there is more energy. The bad part of this is that is takes months for Prozac's full effect to kick in. During this period I know I had more thoughts of death, and I can only assume that someone with less support than I had could be very tempted to end everything during this time. It sound like you are mildly depresed and just need a little help. Don't worry too much about that particular side-effect. Good luck!
(Rating: 4) Yeah, i know you don't need i psychiatrist to get antideoresants i was just saying i didn't want my mom to send me to one.... thanks for the help.
