**** I've been gone quite a long time. However I'm still breathing though it's touch and go. Don't expect me to answer or check in much. ****

Welcome to the junkdrawer that is my brain! I know something about many things, and I if I don't know it, I admit that I don't know. That I am constantly finding things I know nothing about and correcting that ignorance keeps me busy and happy. More junk for the drawer.

I love and have experience with many types of animals, including the human. I don't offend easy and I am generally cynical and a smart-butt. I love to drive, read, work on the computer and I spend WAY too much time watching Anime and bidding on ebay.

Hi again,
You earlier replied to my question on my weird period. I don't think the heavy flow has anything to do with illness, as I know its not that heavy compared to what some people must have, but when I was four I had some trouble that was treated. Could it have come back somehow or be related to anovulation? Please PLEASE reply- I'm really worried about this.

Take a deep breath and relax. Don't worry until you need to. Heavy flow can be perfectly natural, sweetheart. Every woman is different. Also it would not be caused by illness. It is a CONDITION which is different because it's not caused by an outside source and that only occurs during a period of time. Why I mentioned it is because my mother had severe periods like this and they were not normal, but the only treatment she could have used, birth control pills to regulate the hormones,(also the treatment for anovulation by the way)did not work for her. The pills made her so sick that she was unable to take them. This should not worry you since that was YEARS ago. The pill has come a long way since then. What concerns me is that you have such pain with your period (the pain by itself can also be perfectly normal) along with the length of the course and the time lapse between. I don't know if your problem from childhood could be causing some of this. You may have scar tissue that is preventing your body from following its proper cycle. I am not an expert, I just have some experience with afew similiar problems. What I DO know is that the best thing for you to do to ease your mind and get some relief is to go to a good gynocologist. A note on anovulation, it would not be the cause of the pain. It is a condition where your body cannot properly read the change in hormone levels that is supposed to release your egg and start your cycle. This leads to high levels of estrogen in your system and can cause you to be excessively moody and eventually can lead to uteren/cervical cancer if left untreated. (Like having PMS ALL the time.) It also means your body doesn't know when you should stop your period either. Women with anovulation can have severely heavy flows for weeks or light flows requiring no more than a panty liner, but that last for months. It depends on the level of hormones in her body. Also a woman with anovulation has a major problem if she wants to get pregnant. With her body unable to release her eggs she may never become fertile. Again, breathe deep and know none of the major issues like cancer and sterility happen overnight. It would take years of neglecting these conditions to develop these secondary problems. While not fun, going to the gyno is the only way you'll get an accurate picture of what's happening to you. My gyno is my primary doctor. He is wonderful, patient and most of the first appointment is spent discussing your issues before you have an exam. I know I can tell this man anything, because he KNOWS what fears I have and it is his job to discuss these uncomfortable female problems. It is a relief sometimes just to talk to him about the down there issues that you wouldn't even tell your mom. Also you can get a female doc, but I've been to both and the men were far more gentle and understanding of my fears. The female docs were just, I don't know mechanical about the whole process. They didn't seem to care how uncomfortable the process can be. The male doc I use lets me know what he's doing and though totally professional and fast, it seems more as though he makes an effort to be gentle. I have never been hurt by the male docs, I have by the women. This is a personal choice, but I thought I should mention it. You need to go if only because since you have your period it's time. That you have some serious concerns it is imperitive that you find a good doctor and let them examine you. Things are usually not as bad as you may think, and the two conditions I have discussed both can be treated with medication. Good luck, sweetheart. Feel free to leave me another question and I'd like to know how you're doing when you find out if anything IS wrong. Big Hug and stay calm. You'll be fine, I'm sure.
