Q: I've had this problem for years. My parents and my sister always accuse me of talking too much and see nothing wrong with interrupting me in the middle or end of my sentences to tell me to shut up and that I talk too much. I respond by telling them that I was already done talking and that they should'nt assume I'm going to say more, and that it is rude to interrupt someone even if you don't care about what they are saying. At least if it's someone you care about, you should find a nicer way to tell them. They don't listen, they just keep telling me to be quiet when I try to tell them how I feel. I sometimes end up in tears, and then they tell me I'm being grumpy or silly. I'm 35 years old and I'm tired of being treated this way. How can I get them to listen? It's especially embarrassing when they do this in front of others, like my daughter, husband, other family and friends. I'm I partially to blame? Please help!
