Q: I am 17, and I have had my period for about 4 years now. It had been pretty regular for quite awhile, but recently it has been getting very irregular. For Example, I got my period on July 15th, and it only lasted for 3 days which is highly unusal for me. Then today, I got my period again, and its only the 2nd, and it is much more heavy than it usally is.
Is this possibly a sign that there is something wrong with me, and if so, does anyone have any idea of what it is? I was thinking of going to the gynocologist, but my mom said its normal, but I dont think it is, because I know what is normal for me. Also, What should I expect at my first gyno visit?

Well i have never been to the gyno..(thank god)..but i heard its just a bunch of pokin around. Dont worry about your period..there is nothing wrong with ya. Every girl gets irregular sometimes. I know people that only have 6-8 periods a year..and i know people that will get them 2 times a month. Though, if you do start skipping them, i suggest you go to a doctor to get checked out. :)
