I've had a hamster before (when I was really young) and since have gotten into reptiles a lot, and have snakes and lizards and all that. So I'm pretty used to handling a lot of animals, (and, well, I wouldn't do something idiotic like holding a rodent before handling my snakes.)
I think rats are one of the most intelligent species of animals, and make great pets. I've always loved them, and I'd like to get a young rat. - I'm not sure how to take care of one, though. Are they OK in a regular cage? In a tank? Is taking care of a rat more complicated, or about the same as a hamster? If I do get one, I want it to have a full life. How long do they usually live?
I tried looking info up on these guys but everything was contradictory, depending where I got it from. Thanks for anyone who helps, and please - no comments on rats and snakes being "gross! eww!!!11oneone!!". They're really nice animals and beautiful creatures.
I think it would be pretty much the same as a hamster. My friend has a mouse, and I don't see any difference in its 'house' than from a hamsers'. And yes, it's in a tank.
O.K- My dog (Millie Light) keeps pooping on the floor and I literally clean up poop 6 times a day! Is this just plain diaria? Is this normal? Please Help!
P.S- I'm cleaning up poop as we speak!

Yeah, it sounds like diahrreah to me...is that how you spell it? or maybe its some kind of worm thingy in the digestive system dogs can get...Ew..take him to the vet asap.
i have a mini dachshund he is 2 yrs old,he was born with what appeared to be a scratch on his eyeball,as he grew so did the scratch,it now take up half his eye and it has a foggy color to it,and what we believed that was a scratch looks as if it was actually hair, there are a few pieces of hair growing ,it is embedded inti his eye.is this possible?
I think this happened before, like once or twice. you should go to the vet immediately to see about it getting removed...If it can be removed.
any tips on how to housebreak a 10m month old pit bull terrier mix without using a crate?!!! i need help please....

I don't use crates myself. If by housebreaking you mean getting him used to you and your home and your family, etc. you should spend a lot of time with him; walk him, give him baths, play with him. Show him around the house. If you want to potty train him, just put him on the newspaper each time he doesnt use the bathroom in the right place and say loudly and firmly (while pointing to it) "PEE PEE HERE. POOPOO HERE". Repeat it for about 3 times and he should get it. He should learn soon that way.
okay tomorrow i have to watch my aunt and uncles puppy rottie.my grampa is going but i dont think he will be a big help.anyway does any one got an idea to keep him calm or any other tips??
ples help i rate reeeeel high:)
I have a puppy myself, so... If he's potty-trained, he wont be much of a problem. Just bring some toys over, and some thick string, like you use for shoelaces. Tie the string around the toys, and dangle it in the air. My dog loves this game, because he loves to pull the toy while I hold the string.
If you want to keep them quiet, give them a dog treat, or maybe some warm chicken. They usually quiet down after they eat.
My friend and I like the same guy. He goes to my church, and my friend comes to church with another one of my friends, so sees him on Wednesday and stuff. Anyways, she and her friend just found out who I like a few days ago because I decided to tell them. And I'm glad I did. But, she didn't know that I've liked him longer than her. Like, ever since this school year started. He's older and goes to a different school. Is this wrong that we both like the same person? I know that her feelings aren't hurt or anything, but should I let her know that I've liked him for like ever? Thanks and I rate well.
Don't get too competitive. You shouldn't risk your friendsip over a guy. But, yes, you should tell her and promise to hook her up with a better guy. If she doesn't back off, don't get too hard on her. maybe you could come to a compromise?
