No. Calluses, yes. Artrhitis, no. They still don't really know what causes arthritis, but they're pretty sure it's not related to your life's physical activity.

Q: I dont want to sound like a jackass or anything, but why do most women (most being the ones that ive talked to on the subject taht are in HS or graduated around the 17-21 age range) not like birth control. Now it seems to me that birthcontrol isnt to bad at all, and that these women dont understand that seriousness of having a baby. Can someone pleas like to explain why someone would rather risk getting pregnant and having an unplanned baby or having an abortion, instead of takin a pill that would save you from alot of trouble.
Sorry about the length, but its a serious subject, 18-m

Lots of reasons. Most of them are crappy.
- Birth control is physical proof that you're having sex. Your parents may find it.
- Birth control is expensive and not like buying pills at the store - they usually want to give you a full checkout for it, which is pretty uncomfortable for lots of women (some even think they'll "loose their virginity" by going to a gyno). Condoms are worse, because they "break the mood" when you have to put them on.
- Taking hormones makes you gain weight.
- Taking hormonses also increases your risk of heart disease (not sure any young women use that excuse, though).
- You are Catholic and believe that birth control is abortion, and/or a sin.
- Girls are horrible to each other and like to find excuses for calling each other a slut.
- Complete and total denial: of having sex, of the possibility of pregnancy. Maybe ignoring the risk means that it can't hurt you, or at least, you don't have to go through the oh-so-painful ordeal of thinking about it seriously.
I personally think that a girl who doesn't use some sort of protection has no business having sex at all, because she's either really irresponsible or completely immature (or both). That might leave the burden on guys like you, and thank goodness you're conscientious about it.

By the book, Catholics consider it a sin. I was told that it's a sin because you're using your body in a way that God didn't intend for it to be used. But yeah, it's something that everyone does, including lots of Catholics. Your faith is personal though, and I cannot tell you what is and isn't right for you, or what you should or shouldn't believe, or what you should be doing. That's a conversation for you and God to have. Your heart will tell you the answer.

Q: okay i'm 14. and i shave my vagina and i have for like a year or so. and like a month or so ago. i thought i had cut it. because it started to sting and itch like i had cut it. and i tried really hard not to scratch it but i couldnt help it. so then my vagina started getting bumps and stuff on it and kinda by the bottom of my butt. and sometime i scratch it and it starts bleeding. and its like in more then one place. and i stopped shaving underneath to try and let it heal but it wont cause it keeps itching. and so i have itchy bumps kinda by my butt and i have a few some sort of cut-ish type things on the vagina lips. and then i have kinda alot of discharge and so it gets all nasty and yea.. and i don't know if this is odd or what. has anyone else had this happen? or KNOW what is going on or what if i should go to the doctor? cause it's been going on for awhile and its REALLY annoying me. what's happened? what should i do?

Go to a doctor. There are lots of free clinics that will usually keep that stuff confidential. I'm no doctor (nor are most people on the internet), but I know that it's better to be safe than sorry with your health. You could go sterile or have something nasty, so just do yourself a favor and go.

Q: Ok so i heard that you stop your period as soon as your like at the age of 50. Is that true? And at what age should you stop having your period?

Yes, it is true (even earlier, sometimes). I don't think it happens any earlier than 40, but menopause does seem to run "in the family." Some women still get their periods into 70. There's no set age, just that sort of range. If your period's stopping before then, there's probably something else going on.
