I have Windows Movie Maker & I would like to make a music video. The problem is, that I don't have a 'Codec' for it. Here's the message:

"cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again."

So anyway I had it take me to the site and I was very unsure which Codec to get for it. I'm pretty great with computers but I'm honestly very unsure of this Codec problem.

EZ! u should download "autopatcher" (free)for may 2007! it would repair your PC automatically and update it! it also give you some free tools (full codecs, windows add ons etc)! but be sure if using k-lite codec pack use "lots of stuff" installation mode

i have a dell laptop and its kinda new.. my hard drive on the laptop is not working properly and it has no space on it at all, i think theyre may be a virus on it. but i was wondering if i bought a compatible hard disc drive would that be able to fix the problem? would it then be like new?

i give u simple step that will cost u $0:
1.Start/mycomputer/right click and choose manage
2.Storage/disk management and finds the harddrive that have no name
3.format it or change the drive letter by right clicl on the suspected drive! better to do both
4.Voila!! done!

you don't need any specific software to do that if you are using mac, if you use PC Finds and download some free tools in majorgeeks.com, and remember that some mp3s were locked by DRM(Digital right management) which won't allows u to copy or moving it onto another.

The truth is RELIGION was made by filthy human,with sets of written rules! although the essence itself came from ABOVE! Human make religion to classify themselves different with others. how do i make a mix on windows media player? i used to have this program and i would always make mixes on there, but now i don't have it anymore. i download music from limewire and drag it into wmp, and then i make a mix. but when i put it into my cd player it says error. what did i do wrong?

some possibilities came out with your problem! except for the wmp 11, some version of wmp under wmp10 had different type of ripping formats, it's only playable on PC! may be the cd formats itself cannot be recognized by the cd player, whether it's mp3 cd, audio cd, data cd etc! for data cd you need to browse it from folders to folders like in the pc! it only applicable to the full set home theater!

Ok well when i turned on the computer it told me to press DEL to change CPU settings or press F1 to continue.

This started happening this year so I just press DEL, change the date and time to the correct time, press F10 to save everything, and the computer will restart and then on with the normal things.

Today i changed it and it still told me that CPU has been changed and kept telling me to change it. I only change the time and date since I'm not exactly the ocmputer expert.

Am I supposed to change something else?

don't worry Pc IS NOT an easily damaged computer (unlike MAC) you can do whatever you like with it! here are some possibilities about your pc abnormality;
1. The CMOS battery is weak (how old is your PC???) PC with more than 2-3 years old has a greater possibilities! replace it with the new one! the battery is look likes a t-shirt buttons with 3 volt!

2. The bios settings was damaged! please reset the settings to the default values!

3. Reset CMOS memory! (hardware) (beware the electric shock!) if you wasn't sure how to do it just don't try it! plug out the battery for 1 minutes then pluging it again! (the battery located near the PCI expansion slot on the motherboard)
but if you still wanna try it please find the complete step in how to reset cmos memory on the web! it won't damaged your PC as long as you are not sweating!

i put in a memory card, but it doesnt seem to be reading it, and im sure that its the rite card bc i got it at best buy and they otld me that this was the one to get for my phone. am i suposed to do something that im not?

may be the memory card that you got from them doesn't have a format yet! usually sony's memorycard (microSD) already formatted, but in some cases they aren't formatted yet! follow betty's advice, then install the driver later! you might need pc to do this! instal the driver (sonyericsson's pc suit) on your pc and follow it's simple steps! if it still doesn't work you have to complain the store where you bought it! most microSD were lifetime warranty! they will replace your defective micro SD with the new one! so don't you worry about it!

I'm trying to upload a video on youtube but it says it's too big. It's only a minute long but it's somehow 140MB which is more than youtube allows. How can I make long videos but keep them under 100MB??

convert it to .flv (youtube's official formats) find the converter in www.majorgeeks.com! obviously it will decrease the size upto 40-80 percents depends on the video quality that you demanded!

I really like this band called Modest Mouse. Some of you might of heard of them but they are an indie rock band that me and my best friend like. We are trying to get other people to like them to get them more popular. We once offered to go to one of their concerts but my best friend couldn't go because he had football. I have been playing video games ALOT lately and its hard to stop. I have an xbox 360 with xbox live (to play with people around the world at any time) and its very fun. I also play soccer, lacrosse, and basketball. I love sports and its getting harder to play video games and practice my sports together. I am not addicted to video games because whenever I have friends over or go to a friends house we dont play them but when I'm alone I play them alot. I just want to be able to do both with an increase in my skills in sports. Thanks!

My computer is so slow, and i always do a virus scan n it says i have no virus's. But now the side of my screen like in the computer is black and then just today the bottom turned black, how do i fix this? and what can i do to make my computer faster. don't worry PC'RZ in facts IT engineer don't buy a loser like MAC!
just keep on working with your PC, follow my steps;
1. restart your PC and before the microsoft logo appear press F8 on the keyboard
2. in boot option choose save mode, make sure you are logged in as administrator
3. after entering the save mode use the serch apllication by pressing windows logo on the keyboard + F buttons
4. search for all files and folders
5. choose more advanced option and make a full checklist in every option
6.Type .exe in the available search criteria
7. search for local harddrives in "look in" dialogues
8. after the search is finished, find and delete some .exe extension with peculiar names such as SEXY.exe, Shit.exe, winhelp32s.exe or whatever the name is as long as it is not one of your installed programs and doesn't have any affiliation with windows services, re-start your PC!

if it possible try this alternatives;
1.start/all programs/ accesoriss/ system tools / system restore
2. follow those system restore steps
3. restore your system to the older date before those problems came!

REMEMBER; YOU HAVE TO DO THIS STEP FIRST BEFORE YOU TRY TO DEFRAGMENTING YOUR HARDDRIVES!!!

Hi there, I have the same problem with grey'd out wallpaper options as was asked on the 16th July and answered on the 17. Following your advice I tried a restore and got a message at the end of it that there had been no system changes since the date I chose. So I chose an older date and got the same message! Qestion 1. Is the system restore thingy full and if so what can I do about it? Question 2. Is there another way to re-set the desktop settings? I've tried everything else I can think of including various registry fixers... Gary from the U.K.

sorry for a late answer, well each windows version have different way to solve those problem. here are ny suggestion and answer;

Windows XP SP1/SP2;
1. System restore is fully applicable IF your PC doesn't have a brutal problems with VIRUS or other malware programs
2. Desktop settings has some relation with the themes and other windows visualization. to avoid any things that could make it worse, you should download some basic themes from some weblinks that give you a theme for free or style programs from www.microsoft.com, warez.com etc (i recommend style XP and tune up utillities 2007)
REMEMBER; search for the key generator or cracks only for home used only!

until now i didn't get any benefits of using those live one care programs! i would prefer the illegal software that have a cracks code, and much more safer for home-daily use!(doesn't have to worry about uninstalling process

1. i didn't quite sure about this OS, since it has too many problems and making me sick of something {that some of its services had some major trouble with the restore settings}

i got most of your steps but i dont know what files to look for.

search for the .exe extension that have a peculiar names, but be careful do not try to delete the extension that is closely related with one of your installed application!
for example the virus came with a hidden folder with SEXXY.exe , you have to make sure that none of your programs came with those names, after that you can delete it! and restarts your PC!
