Am I able to play football?

Question Posted Thursday September 10 2015, 6:02 pm

I am in seventh grade and I was wondering if I could play football in eighth grade. I weigh 133 pounds and I am 5'5. Not that much in shape and have more of a smaller body type. I was planning on working out this summer if I have to because I really want to play but I don't know if it will be too much for me. What position could I play also, I asked some people but that didn't really help. I don't think I can play like on of the bigger guys who is supposed to tackle anybody but I thought maybe running back or something would be okay. This will also be my first time playing on a team since I never did sports as a kid but a lot of my friends are doing football so I wanna do it too. A lot of the other kids are way more experienced too. Please help!

If your fast, and can catch, a wide-reciever might be the position for you, or if your fast, and hit, a saftey might work too. If your not any of these, you could try a kicker or punter. And also, remember to ask your coach about what position you could play, it's his team, and he knows best. Hope my advice helped!:)
