Taking your pill a bit late will not affect your protection or even if you miss a day. If everything else with you is normal you should be fine. The pill has a cumulative affect on your fertility.

What does affect your contraceptive medication is taking antibiotics so talk with your pharmacist about interaction with you contraceptive medication when a doctor prescribes another medication. It may be necessary to use condoms while on this other medication and for a period of time after you finish the other medication.

When you decide to get pregnant don't expect to become pregnant right away. Depending on the medication you're taking it could take 30 to 60 days for the contraceptive medication to fully work out of your system.

I know this sounds like a contradiction with the information about other medications. Its not. The other medications you might need to take are an abnormal situation where as going of your contraceptive medication would be a normal event and that requires the body to readjust.

An hour or two late will not affect your protection. If you skip a whole day entirely, that is another matter.
