Is there one trustworthy horoscope place to get yours every day? I keep going to different ones and they all say different things! I am beginning to think they are all just made up! Help?

If you are looking for some kind of guidance as to what is going on in your life, you need to realise the horoscope is a poor tool for the job is it is the only tool you are relying on. For example, When doing a good job on your gardening, you need the right tools. There is no "One" gardening tool that does it all. You cannot mow your lawn or aerate it with a hand spade, nor can you trim your bushes with a hand spade. There is a group of tools that are needed to whip your yard into shape. A horoscope uses only the date of your birth and does not take into account the exact time of birth, and the place of birth meaning the city and state, not hospital or home or car. So you see, using the extra information into pin pointing a personalized guidance chart for you makes a big difference. There are some very 'basics' that are the same about sun signs, like Aquarians. I have two daughters who are Aquarian. While there are those stereotypes of the Aquarian sign that I can see in each of them, the similarities stop there. They have different dates of birth in the range of dates that are labeled Aquarians, different cities and different times of birth. It is actually a very precise science. My husband does some astrology. He has an old computer astrology program no longer created so I can't recommend it. He also has many in depth astrology books he will go to the exact page in there that the computer program indicates applies to the individual at any particular time. My mom is passed on, so I couldnt ask her for my time of birth and it can't be a wild guess because an hour can change the description of the person. Well, since we had no clue, He began to read off to me the many many different personality descriptions. He knew me well enough to exclude those of night time and knew I'd fit somewhere in the daytime. So he'd read one after another and it didn't sound anything like me at all until we got to one. Bingo! Just to be sure, we went over others that were similar and read over our narrowed down selections. Hopefully you know your time of birth if you are serious about using your birth chart and astrology? Ask mom if she's alive, if it was daylight or dark out, what she was doing at the time she went into labor, how long was labor to job her memory and narrow down the time selections.
You may want to find a professional astrologer to help you come up with your detailed birth chart, the sun, the moon, the rising sign, what was trined or squared, etc.... Make sure to save that information. Then purchase a computer program into which you put your info and save your astrology profile and then find the current month and date and the program should be able to tell you what interpretation to read such as the page for Jupiter trined with Mars. Sometimes its not just one day but a two week or two month period that the same instructions apply to before they will change. It may be best to ask other people you meet if they are into astrology and what they use. Try meetup.com for groups of people interested in astrology for your area and go to hang out with them and learn from them. It is too overwhelming to learn it all and figure it all out on your own.
If your simply want a fun way to have a guidance just for a particular day but not as precise as astrology, you can purchase guidance cards or a tarot card deck with interpretation book for beginners. Even knowing very little about Tarot, I have found that often, my subconscious mind is led to pull just the card or cards out of the deck that I needed to confirm something I am going through or bring some clarity or focus. It would not work as well if someone else pulled your cards, it's 'your' energy that makes the difference in what you pull. A good metaphysical shop/bookstore will have them. You can find them on line but i suggest going into a shop where you can view samples of the artwork of the cards and some of the advice listed. I find I am drawn to some card decks and others I don't like at all. Even a regular bookstore will carry a few, but not a very good selection. If you chose to go this route, one good creator of daily guidance cards is Doreen Virtue. There are many others though. Thats the only name I remember off the top of my head. Good luck in exploring. Zodiac signs are legitimately entertaining, but have no direct relationship with who we are, how we relate to others or what happens in our lives. Horoscopes are bullshit.
I could go into all the ways that our the modern 'zodiac' in newspapers is a complete bastardization of the actual Hellenistic and Babylonian astronomy, and all the ways horoscopes appear to work, but are simply mind tricks, but it's probably best you just watch this: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
It sums it up nicely. If you want to learn more about the science behind it, google the Barnum and Forer effect.
Horoscopes are an interesting neurological phenomenon, but they don't mean anything. The only 'truth' in them, is the truth you THINK you see in them.
If you like reading your horoscope, just pick a site or a writer who you enjoying reading. It's like reading the funnies in the morning. Nothing to take seriously, just a bit of easy entertainment. [ Razhie's advice column | Ask Razhie A Question ]
