pms I'm 17/F
I've had my period since I was in sixth grade. I'm a senior now..
What I've realized from having it..
is that a week before I get it,
I get severely moody, and irritable,
and its almost like I'm depressed for a week,
and then when I get my period I'm not moody, I'm normal. And maybe this is normal? But I just get so down and in a funk before I get it, it just doesn't seem like something thats "normal" you know?
It makes relationships with people difficult because for one week, I'm really irritable and easily angered. And it causes unnecessary fights or arguments, that lead to me in the end always apologizing. I try to control it, but its just.. not exactly working.
Is this normal? What should I do?

Its normal. I get that way sometimes before I start. You just got to let your friends know when you are all moody and stuff so they don't end up hating you. So that's about all you can do and you try to control it. At least your trying, just let your friends know and they will understand. Good luck! ]
It's completely normal, it's just a lovely perk of PMS. PMS can cause physical and emotional pain, such as the kind your suffering (moody, depressed, irritable, etc) or cramping, back and muscle ache, soreness of your breasts, etc. It's hard to control the emotional side effects of PMS, but you can do things like exercise (it's proven that exercising boosts your mood and makes cramps less severe) or take a hot bath or go for a walk to collect yourself.
There are birth control pills that regulate your hormones and make both factors of PMS less severe or even not happen. You can talk to your doctor about that.
Tell your friends when your PMSing and ask them to be understanding. That's really all you can do. Trust me, every girl has been there.
Good luck,
