weird smelling.. im 18/f
within the past couple months i have realized that there has been a weird smell coming from "down there" i dont know what it could be. i wash it everyday and i have never had sex before, i dont know if that could affect anything but i have alot of discharge and i went to the doctor to see if anything was wrong and she said that its normal to have discharge and it means that your body is just cleaning itself and there isnt really anything i can do. but i discharge so much that i have to wear a panty-liner and that i have to wear a tampon everyday because if i dont it will get all over the place and it feels disgusting. i just dont know where this weird smell is coming from and if and when i decide to do something with a boy i dont want it to smell down there...gross. any suggestions or comments to why this could be happening? thanks!

It's pretty normal, and maybe you're just now becoming aware of the smell, but if it really bugs you there are things you can do.
Cranberry juice. It's great for UTI's and really anything that's weird down there. Drink lots of it, and juice high in citric acid. It helps clean out the whole body and keeps excess discharge out of there.
Limit red meat intake as it puts a lot of toxins in your body that have to come out somehow....
A douche can help as well, always go non-scented if you get one though, otherwise the perfumes can actually irritate the area and make things worse.
Drink more water. Seriously, it help like you wouldn't believe. You'll have to pee a lot till your body gets used to it, but guarantee it will help. Celery is basically water too, so eating some of that daily will help too and you can drink a little less water (it also has negative calories if you're watching your weight since it takes more calories to digest than you get from it).
Doing all of these at the same time will give you the fastest effects. ]
It could be that your body just happens to discharge a lot or that you have a different pH balance than most other females. To be sure, ask your health care professional because they would have more knowledge about this than anyone here ever would.
