self confidence for university

Posted Saturday January 5 2019, 4:11 am

I will be going to university in one year and i am a bit worried due to having no self-esteem and self confidence. I am a very anti social and introvert person. What should i do because i have no idea how will i deal with it. Also that "Fake it, till you make it. be brave no one can tell" thing doesn't work, i have tried it.

Feeling super burnt out in college

Posted Sunday November 18 2018, 1:55 am

I'm 24/f and I've been in college for around 5 years trying to get my bachelors. I work full time so I can't always take full time classes and had to take a semester off when I moved and had to find a new job. I still have a year and a half left of undergrad.

Anyways, I'm feeling very burnt out and like my bachelors degree is a giant waste of time. I'm so extremely tired of going to school and taking class after class with seemingly no end in sight. I feel like all I'm doing is wracking up debt. I'm newly engaged to my fiance and now the thing at the forefront of my mind (he's very solid in his career and financially) is us getting a house and getting married in the next two years. I know it won't be too long before he also ...

In phlebotomy, do you have to know the tubes by which additive they have?

Posted Saturday November 17 2018, 2:09 pm

It's hard even though I keep reading over and over. I'm not retaining it. Some tubes have the same additive but different colors. There's a lot of additives for some. I even made flash cards but its not helping me. what if I get a job as a phlebotomist and a doctor starts calling out tubes, by additives? That's what my instructor says happened to her.

[ Answer Question ]

What is the phlebotomy exam (NHA) going to be like?

Posted Wednesday November 14 2018, 1:19 pm

I took the phlebotomy class. I can't find online, any info on what to expect. How many questions will there be? Is it considered "hard"? The only part I'm really worried about is the order of draw and additives. My instructor didn't really go over it that much. I still studied and continue to do so, but I'm just not getting it. Its a lot to memorize.

I want to become a doctor

Posted Friday November 9 2018, 5:35 pm

Should I follow my dreams to become a doctor, or perhaps choose to be something simpler? All my life I have been wanting to become a doctor, however, my parents are not very supportive of me going to school. They would rather me work. As I am on my own and very young, I don't need any debt. I am a 19-year-old male and a college freshman. I would love to graduate with a bachelor's in Biology, and then go on to medical school. Since my parents aren't going to help me pay for my tuition, I am putting myself in debt by going to school. Should I just become something else? I am thinking that I could become a dental hygienist and then save up money and eventually go to medical school. But even dental hygiene is a hard program to get into. I reall...

Should I take a refresher course if I'm not 100% confident ?

Posted Thursday November 1 2018, 11:21 pm

Should I take a refresher course if I'm not 100% confident with the skills I learned in phlebotomy?

I'm in phlebotomy right now and we've done a lot of things that havr went by really fast. I would hate to get a job and my supervisor or a doctor think I'm dumb becaise I forgot to do something. My instructor isn't getting to me well. I can draw blood, but we also had to do gram smears once and other labs. I dont know how to explain it, but we barely get time to do certain things because the instructor is always late for class, late coming back from lunch, and dismisses class early because she's tired or doesnt want to drive in the rain or some other excuse. We just did things one time and moved onto something else. I can draw ...

Finishing my degree

Posted Thursday October 4 2018, 2:51 pm

I've been receiving my education at a well known Canadian research Uni. In my final semester, with one class left to complete, our family moved to Oregon. This was unavoidable, bankruptcy was involved, my family sold our home, and a job was offered in the Pacific Northwest. I needed to move with my family and try to finish my degree in Oregon since on my own, I can't afford the $20,000 that Canada requires in your bank account to extend a Canadian student visa (I'm an international student).

Since moving to the state I've been submitting syllabus after syllabus to the advisers back in Canada, in attempts at finding a match for the one upper level statistics course I need to complete. I've been able to find two matches, the ma...

[ Answer Question ]

Should I drop this course?

Posted Wednesday September 26 2018, 4:47 am

I'm a full time college student taking four classes and working at night. One of the courses I chose to take this semester was American Sign Language 1 online. I was super excited about it when I first joined the class, but now I'm growing to hate it.

I didn't expect it to be easy, but it's become extremely complicated and I'm only in week 4. There are so many rules and the professor is very demanding. On our last quiz he gave us 8 minutes to explain what a signer was signing in 10 different videos. I got 7 of them before the timer ran out and he gave me an F and wouldn't let me attempt to take it again. I wrote him an email about it asking if maybe next time he could give us at least a minute per video because part of my iss...

Should I get an iPad for university?

Posted Friday September 14 2018, 3:46 pm

Hi,

I'm a current chemistry undergraduate with two years left on his degree, wondering whether or not it would make sense to get the 2018 iPad for the remainder of my degree.

For clarity, this iPad would be used exclusively to download lecture notes and then write on them during the lecture in order to replace receiving physical lecture note and stuffing them into my bag and getting scruffy/lost. Also, my lecturers often ramble/ don't put in enough detail into the typed notes, leading me to try and scribble a lot of text in very small writing. After the lecture, I plan on writing up my lecture notes on physical paper and filing it away.

I own a windows laptop (I can't type notes, they'd have to ...

How to Go About It

Posted Thursday August 30 2018, 5:33 pm

Hi, I’m having a lot of trouble concentrating and choosing something I want to dedicate to in life. I started out in Geology, switched to English, am gonna graduate from English, but am thinking of doing a second bachelor afterwards. This is highly impractical as its very expensive and there is rarely any financial help for a second bachelors. My problem is that I want both art and science. However its better to focus on an area and take hobbies on the side, but I can’t decide. For science I was thinking of Indiana University Bloomington and its Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, maybe combine with Anthropology or Animal Behavior since the university is flexible towards doubles. I like the idea of traveling to different locations, learning...

Grad School

Posted Thursday June 14 2018, 5:08 pm

Hello, I am 23 years old and I have a bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology. A few weeks ago, I had applied to three graduate schools for clinical mental health. I had gotten into two of them, I told the one that I would go to the other since it was financially best for me and when I went to accept the other's acceptance, I just couldn't do it. I started to panic reading about it and it's had me in such a frazzled state for days, keeping on thinking about it.

So, I'm thinking that this isn't my passion. I wanted to be a therapist but one would think once I finally got in and could get the ball rolling, I would be super excited but I've been so overwhelmed and scared and just so darn anxious that I don't think this is ...

I keep screwing up my finances trying to graduate, should I just quit?

Posted Monday January 15 2018, 7:30 pm

Long story short I've had to transfer colleges twice and every single time I've gotten somehow charged with multiple thousands worth of fees.

The first time when I transferred out of the first college (it was too expensive) they told me I had broken some kind of contract I don't recall ever signing about leaving their school before I got my degree there. They charged me 2200 and I paid it off to get my transcripts because no matter what I said they wouldn't budge on the amount.

Then the next school I transferred out of to go to a university. They told me I was all clear with them financially, gave me my transcripts and I happily started at a university the next semester. Then a few months later they sen...
