Hi, My name's Rae, I'm a 17/f. My 19 yr old boyfriend just left for the Navy like, an hour ago. He's going to basic training and I won't be able to talk to him on the phone as often or see him at all until 9 weeks (His family and I are driving to Chicago for his graduation in late March). I just need to know how I can deal with this. It's so hard for me to be away from someone that I truly love. We've been together for so long and I feel so out of place without him. Please, help. hey rae, omg i know exactly how you feel. me and my boyfriend went through the exact same thing last year. and im goign to be honest with you...its going to be really hard at first...but then he will mail you a letter w/ his address about 2 weeks after he leave and you can start writing him. i wrote my boyfirned every single day. he says it helped him alot. they really tear the boys down in bootcamp. so just write him as often as you can w/ happy news and good encouraging words. never tell him anythign bad and please dont break up w/ him while he is there. he will probablly get to call once or twice...i missed my boyfirneds first call and felt horrible so alwasy have your fone w/ you. but n/e ways i hoped this helped. i promise that after he starts sending you letters (about one a week) it will get alot easier! the navy does alot of good for the men and women! ...oh and one other thing....idk what his recruiter told you or him. but after bootcamp you go to his grad. and spend the weekend w/ him. then he is off to school for how ever long. he doesnt get to come home unitl that is over with. you can go up there but he cant leave. my boyfirned was gone almost a year before he came home again but he was told he would come home after basic. it was hard but its been a year and we are doing
great!

last valentines day i made my boyrfirend a little book "101 reason i love you" it was so sweet and there were exactly 101 reasons, along with pictures of us and different cute things that had happend while we were together. reasons like i love you becasue your my everything, or i love you because i know i can always count on you, or i love you because your so funny!, or even silly things like i love you because your butt is bigger than mine. lol he loved it and still has it!

Okay...I really like a guy that I met recently, and he just asked me to be his girlfriend. The only problem with this is that he lives in Tennessee and I live in Indiana. I really like him and think that I should go for it, but I'm afraid that if I accept that I wont be able to handle the fact that he lives in TN. What should I do???? (link)

If you t hink you can trust him then of course go for it!! i started dating my boyfriend when i was 15 and he was 18....we were only together a month. then he left for the navy bootcamp. of course it was extremely hard. but im so happy w/ him. im now 18 years old and we are engaged! i still live in louisiana and he lives in virginia. i go see him when i can and when he gets leave he comes home....not often at all. but he is def worth it! he is the best thing thats ever happened to me! i think you shoudl just give it a try, take a chance! if it doesnt work out then i promise you still will have learned alot from the whole experience! but he might turn out to be the one for you...but if you dont take that chance you could miss out!
