the sound recorder on windows only records one minute at a time, then you have to hit record again. anyone know i can make it record longer, or any free programs i can download that will record until i push stop? (link)

Audacity has a free version of audio recording software. Other good but paid software is 1AVCapture and it has the advantage of video recording as well.

Hi, I am a singer and I would like to start putting my songs on myspace music..but I need some kind of program to record it. I have a microphone built into my computer, and I have the program sound recorder, but I get soo much backround noise. Is there a way to reduce the sound, and make it sound more professional? (link)

Audacity will do what you need and it is free so that is a no brainer. If you want something practical and not expensive then you can try 1AVCapture, it has 21 days of free audio recording.
