Having watched a cat playing with a mouse before killing and eating it Iago called them 'Green eyed monsters'. Jealousy is thus the eponymous green eyed monster that lives within us. Jealousy plays with us, it mocks us, plays with our emotions, making fools of those it has ensnared before devouring us. It is a creature of our own making that ultimately destroys us.
