I just moved to a small town. There are a lot of small business here, most of which sell and specialize in different things. I have been thinking about starting a business for a few years now. I think this is a good place to start. We have a place we are renting where the rent will stay stabalized. My sweetie has a good job. I really need to get into my own thing doing art. There are a lot of artists here that could showcase their work at my potential store. The question is, how do I go about getting a grant to make it happen. I would need enough money to pay myself about $400-500 a week+rent+supplies+enough to possibly hire 1 employee if I wanted too. This is a really small business. It will only be open like 9 hours a day 5 days a week. If it helps...I am a woman and I am of south american and african american decent, I also have some native american in me and I am 25. I know they do a lot of grants based on that stuff so if you know of any.

Well sinc you have native american ansestry in you you should first try loans and grants given out by your government(state/provincial or federal) for Native Americans. Another god thing to try is to find organizations in your area that help out small businesses, I can not really tell you were to look because I dont know were it is you live but most areas will have some organization that will be of some us to you.

If you cant find help with either of these start talking to other business owners in the area ask them for adivce and how they got started out. If all else fails you may have to look at a loan.

Starting a business isnt easy and will be lots of work. I hope all goes well!

Okay, so this is just out of curiosity, I would never mess with my birth control because I know that's bad for you. Just to clarify.

But just wondering...

I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. It has pills to take every day, then placebo pills to take for the week you have your period.

If someone was to skip the placebo pills and just keep taking the regular pills for two months, say, would they not get their period?

Oh, and also, do I take all 7 placebo pills or just stop taking them once my period's over?

The placebo pill is a placebo. The point of the placebo is to keep track and keep you on the schedule of taking th pill. Your period should not be interupted at all. The placebo pill really is so you dont forget about the pill and to keep you into good habits.

Howver when you start your period you can just toss them if you want but you would NOT start another pack untill after your period is over. However if you did start a new pack it would affect your period. How I'm not 100% sure but it would probubly delay it. Again I can not say that with total accuracy. If you want to keep the regular cycle stick to what you were doing before, there really isnt any need to mess with something that should be happening anyway.

Hi i just turned 16 and i want a summer job.. I attend school and i should be getting out around june. I would like a job during the summer time.

should i start applying now or should i wait a little longer.
and what are some tips so i can get noticed by the people who are hiring and should i still ask for a application even if they do not have a "now hiring" sign out.. please help this is my first job. Please just give me some tips.

It really depends on where you want to go. If you want to work at a local grocery, or fast food place you can put it off until around exam review time.I have learned this from expirence. These places are always hiring. I know for instance I work for Couche-Tard a large convience store chain in Canada I applied 2 weeks before school ended and I started the moment I finished my last exam.

However if you want something a little better(electronics stores, good resturants, national/state/provincial parks, or any seasonal work) apply NO LATER THAN MID-APRIL!!!!!!!!

They often look for students, teachers and retirees. These jobs are hard to come by in may or june.

Also most places will just take a resume, or if they need an application it should be online in todays age(all the jobs I have applied for have been so far)

Remember if you have no previous expirence just make sure any extracirriculars are there. They will be impressed with the more you give them. I know the fact that I am bilingual and that I am involved with Junior Achievement got me my first job.

lately i have been thinking about what career i want.i want to something that helps others, to tell you the truth, money doesn't concern me too much.That point of view may change as i get older, but i don't really think so.i've never really been in things for just the money. but aNyWaY... what i have been motivated to do is help people in other countries.one night i just thought about it and looked up some pictures and, the pictures actually made me cry.these situations that people in other countries are in for some reason really get to me and touch me in a way that nothing ever has before. to think that i am so fortunate to take a hot shower at night, or go out for dinner and party when these people can't even feel safe where they live because their back yard is a battlefield makes me feel so angry.I know people can only do so much to help, but i have decided that i want to be one who tries.I would like to become a form of nurse,then eventually put in an application to "Doctors without Borders". I know i have a hell of a long way before this actaully happens, so i wanted to know what others think about this plan.I want to do it, and i know if i try it will happen. the only thing my home.My dad can barely take it if i'm more than a couple hours away from home, hell, if i ever went somewhere like Africa for a year I honestly think he would get sick while i was gone.NO JOKE.Part of me wants to do this for the lives of others, the other part can't bare the thought of family worrying over me. I feel soo tied down. i know this is probably way over the top because this hasen't even happend yet and i'm only 16, but i've just been thinking about it lately. what do you think?

You are right you are only 16 and you still can not be sure what career path you will take but it is obvious you care a lot about others.

So one suggestion I have for you is something I myslef have tried. I startes a STAND chapter at my school. You could do the same with anyother charity or human rights group(STAND, Amnesty, etc...).

This will give you expirence and potentially internships and work expirence with some organizations.

If you still want to pursue nursing do nursing, you are a caring person and that is one major charecteristic in a good nurse. As for going away well you should wait and see how you feel about that down the road. You may still want to but you may not. You could have a family by then that you dont want to leave, or you may not and want to leave there is no telling what the future will hold.

I've been laying in the tanning bed lately & I burnt my nipples.

Now they have this scab-looking skin over them & its not attractive at all...

How can I speed up the healing process?

Stay away from tanning bed until it heals first of all.
Also use a gel or ointment(such as aloa vera or vasiline maybe)
You can use a moisturizer or cream as well if it is rich in vit. A or E these vitamins are good for skin and should help heal them a bit faster. howvere be careful how much you use. If the nipple is irratated or the skin is broken dont use much or any at all just the gel.
If the burn is severe go to a doctor.

Well in terms of clothing pack for two seasons. SO that depends on when your going. if you going within the next month or so go for winter and spring aparel. That can be a lot so check out a weather forcast site for ireland to see which you focus on bringing.

Then your next biggest item woudl be money. I believe they use Euro if not I would say pounds. Your nearest bank should tell you which is what they will expect you to use. If it is Euro the bank will convert it, if not go to the bank get Euro and convert at a conversion checkpoint in ireland.

Also you need a camera(OBVIOUSLY) make sure you bring memory cards or film. If you go with memory cards try and take 2 in case you lose or break one then you can stil take pictures. You need a standard AC converter. Go to an electronics store hey will give you what you need.

bring medications for upset stomach, dirreha, constipation, headache, nasal spary etc... You will expirence conditions you may not be used to....BE PREPARED

Other than that just anything you would normally bring. I know the stres of all of this. In a month I am travleiing to Russia..... that is stressful.... so just try and cover all the basics and you should be fine.

First of all dont keep it running if its not in use, that way the battery doesnt run right down. If it does you have to charge it more and because the battery is either Li-ion or Ni-MH rechargable batteries, the more you recharge it the less life you get out of it. Rechargable batteries only live for a while.

Keep it in a case when you travel with it.If you dont scratches dents and other damages are sure to follow.

Try to keep it home as much as possible. The more it travels unnessicarily the more chances you have to create damages.

Download a REALLY good anti-virus program and schedule weekly virus scans. The moment your computer gets slow or is overcome with viruses that you are having trouble getting rid of bring it out for maintenence.

And although not always nessicary try getting the cmomputer maintained every 6 months. But you should have it maintained annually anyway.
