Is it true that there is a nerve in your neck that makes you pass out? And if so, where is it? (link)

absolutely - the body is full of pressure points. all of these are utilised in martial arts. it is usually located half way up the side of the neck and with the correct amount of force you can render your victim to black out or even die

to start with they are yanking on your teeth. pain is part of the process
i have had braces for nearly 2 years and can tell you it will get easier,
i take pain killers 10 minutes before a tightening appointment
i brush my teeth with sensitive toothpaste
i eat soft foods for 3 days after a tightening
i floss often (3 times a day)
i rinse my mouth often (3 times a day)
i eat with plastic cutlery
use wax to prevent canker sores and keep a countdown calendar - the treatment time are normally discussed on the initial consult.
good luck :)
