If you need a new drive, it would NOT be cheaper for a new tower. DVD drives sell for around 30 euros/dollers etc. and are extremely easy to replace. Take the side panel off, and look a the back of the dvd dive if it's a new computer it should attach with a small cable called a SATA cable: http://www.pcstats.com/articleimages/200708/LGGSAH62N_sata2.jpg (the one on the right) If not it should attach with an ide cable: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/images/cable-ide.jpg. Identify the type of cable, go to a computer shop and buy a drive that attaches to the same cable as your current one, unscrew the old one, screw the new one in, replace the two cable that were in your old one, and you're good to go.

In itunes, enable your ipod for disk use. Then head to my computer, double click the ipod device. Press Ctrl + H or go to edit -> show hidden folders. Find the music folder and open it. You should now see lots of files with names like F02, F05 etc. This is how the ipod stores music. Press ctrl + A, then Ctrl + C. Open the folder you want your music saved to and then press Ctrl + V.
